about me

My name is Andra Knox, and I’m an African-American writer and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the internal world—using my own experiences, spiritual riddles, and emotional landscapes to investigate the nuanced puzzles of being human.

I’ve been writing since 2010, initially through acting and stand-up comedy, but poetry began to take a deeper hold in my work around 2015. That evolution led to my debut self-published poetry collection, Young Adult: A Perspective Through Poetry & Writings in 2017.

Between 2019-2026, I continued collecting experiences, questions, relationships, and reflections that eventually became, Antidote— a cross-genre poetry book accompanied by a poetry EP. At its core, Antidote is an exploration of gratitude, self-examination, love, darkness, and the ways we can learn to remain appreciative of life despite its complexities.

My work has always been about looking inward to better understand what it means to live outwardly. Antidote is the latest expression of that process and is finally ready to be shared with the world. Currently available here andraknox.com
